Detailed Itinerary: 10 Days Kilimanjaro Marangu And Safari
Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your transfer for the journey to your booked hotel in Moshi. Use this time to rest, settle in and prepare for the upcoming Marangu Route trek. Any exact transfer arrangements should be confirmed before travel.

Day 1: Moshi Town to Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Rising: 5,500 ft / 1,700 m to 9,000 ft / 2,740 m | Stretch: 7 km | Hike time: 4–5 hours | Climatic habitat: Montane Forest. The trek begins through lush forest toward Mandara Hut. Walk at a comfortable pace while following your mountain guide and allow your body to adjust to the increasing altitude.
Meal plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Rising: 9,000 ft / 2,700 m to 12,100 ft / 3,700 m | Stretch: 11 km | Hike time: 6–8 hours | Climatic habitat: Heathland/Moorland. The landscape gradually changes as the trail leaves the forest and enters open moorland. Maintain a steady pace and stay hydrated while gaining elevation toward Horombo Hut.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut
Rising: 12,100 ft to 14,160 ft to 12,100 ft | Stretch: 10 km | Hiking time: 3–5 hours. This acclimatization day provides additional time at altitude before moving higher. The hike follows a higher route before returning to Horombo Hut, helping prepare your body for the elevation ahead.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Rising: 12,100 ft / 3,700 m to 15,400 ft / 4,700 m | Stretch: 10 km | Hike time: 6–8 hours | Climatic habitat: Alpine Desert. The vegetation becomes increasingly sparse as the trail approaches Kibo. This is an important preparation day before the summit, so conserve energy, walk slowly and follow your guide’s instructions.

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Rising: 15,400 ft / 4,700 m to 19,300 ft / 5,895 m, then 19,300 ft / 5,895 m to 12,100 ft / 3,700 m | Stretch: 4 km up / 14 km down | Hike time: 10–15 hours | Climatic habitat: Alpine Desert. This is the summit day, followed by descent to Horombo Hut. The long schedule requires patience, controlled pacing and close attention to your guide’s instructions.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Moshi Town
Rising: 12,100 ft / 3,700 m to 5,500 ft / 1,700 m | Hiking time: 5–7 hours | Stretch: 18 km. Descend through changing vegetation to Marangu Gate, complete the mountain section and continue to Moshi Town. After arrival in Moshi, you will be transferred to Arusha for the night.

Day 7: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Pickup is planned around 7:00 am to 8:00 am, with the exact time confirmed in advance. The drive to Tarangire takes approximately 2 hours over about 109 km. Enjoy game viewing for elephants and other wildlife before driving late afternoon toward Mto wa Mbu or Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Mto wa Mbu/Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Pickup from Arusha is planned around 9:00 am to 9:30 am, with the exact time updated before departure. Continue toward Serengeti for a game drive and overnight stay in Central Serengeti. Please note that your Serengeti check-in time determines the applicable checkout time according to park regulations.

Day 9: Serengeti Game Drive to Ngorongoro Rim
Enjoy a game drive in Serengeti National Park before later driving toward the Serengeti Gate for checkout. The checkout time depends on the previous check-in time. After entering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, its check-in time will also affect the required checkout time.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive to Arusha
