Arrival: Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to your booked hotel in Moshi. This arrival arrangement gives you time to settle in before the mountain section begins. Airport transfer arrangements can be organized according to your arrival details. Additional accommodation can also be arranged if required.
Day 1: Moshi to Mandara Hut
Rising: 5,500 ft / 1,700 m to 9,000 ft / 2,740 m | Stretch: 7 km | Hike time: 4–5 hours | Climatic habitat: Montane Forest. Travel from Moshi Town to Marangu Gate and begin hiking through the montane forest toward Mandara Hut. The route provides a gradual introduction to the mountain environment. Meal plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 2: Mandara to Horombo
Rising: 9,000 ft / 2,700 m to 12,100 ft / 3,700 m | Stretch: 11 km | Hike time: 6–8 hours | Climatic habitat: Heathland/Moorland. Continue from Mandara Hut toward Horombo Hut, gaining elevation as the landscape changes from forest to heathland and moorland. The day’s walking continues the gradual ascent on Marangu Route. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3: Horombo to Kibo
Rising: 12,100 ft / 3,700 m to 15,400 ft / 4,700 m | Stretch: 10 km | Hike time: 6–8 hours | Climatic habitat: Alpine Desert. Hike from Horombo Hut toward Kibo Hut through the increasingly sparse alpine desert environment. The elevation becomes significantly higher, preparing you for the summit section that follows. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 4: Uhuru Peak
Rising: 15,400 ft / 4,700 m to 19,300 ft / 5,895 m, then to 12,100 ft / 3,700 m | Stretch: 4 km up / 14 km down | Hike time: 10–15 hours | Climatic habitat: Alpine Desert. The summit day begins from Kibo Hut, continuing toward Uhuru Peak before descending to Horombo Hut. This is the longest hiking day of the route and requires careful pacing. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Horombo to Moshi to Arusha
12,100 ft / 3,700 m to 5,500 ft / 1,700 m | Hike time: 5–7 hours | Stretch: 18 km. Descend from Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and continue back to Moshi Town. After arrival in Moshi, you will be transferred to Arusha for the night stay before continuing with the safari section. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: Arusha to Tarangire
Pickup from Arusha is planned around 7:00 am to 8:00 am, with the exact time confirmed in advance. The drive to Tarangire takes approximately 2 hours (109 km). Enjoy a game drive where elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and other wildlife may be seen. Late afternoon, continue to Mto wa Mbu or Karatu for dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 7: Serengeti
Pickup from Arusha is around 9:00 am to 9:30 am, with the exact time updated beforehand. Continue toward Serengeti for game viewing and overnight in Central Serengeti. Please note that check-in time can determine the following day’s checkout time according to park regulations. Meal plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 8: Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Enjoy a game drive in Serengeti National Park before driving toward the Serengeti Gate for checkout. Checkout time depends on the applicable check-in time. Continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where check-in time also determines the applicable checkout time. Overnight on the Ngorongoro Rim. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, descend early into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Later, drive to the Ngorongoro Gate for checkout, with the checkout time depending on the applicable check-in time. Arrival in Arusha is expected around 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Meal plan: Breakfast and Lunch.
