Detailed Itinerary: 6 Days Tarangire, Serengeti, Ndutu, and Ngorongoro Safari
Arrival Day: Airport to Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your driver for a comfortable transfer to Arusha. Settle in, relax after your flight, and prepare for the safari ahead. An additional Arusha night can be arranged according to your arrival time and travel schedule.
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire
Pickup is around 7:00–8:00 am, with the exact time confirmed beforehand. Drive approximately 2 hours (109 km) to Tarangire for a game drive. Watch elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impala, baboons, and possible big cats. Late afternoon, drive to Mto wa Mbu or Karatu for dinner and overnight. Meals: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 2: Mto wa Mbu/Karatu to Serengeti
After breakfast, pickup is around 9:00–9:30 am and continue toward Serengeti National Park. Park entry and check-in procedures are completed on arrival. Your Serengeti park access continues through the following day, allowing more time for wildlife viewing. Spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and antelope. Around 5:45–6:00 pm, drive to Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3: Serengeti to Ndutu
Enjoy breakfast before a morning and afternoon game drive across Central Serengeti. Later, drive toward the park exit to complete checkout procedures, then continue toward Ndutu. During calving season, look for wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other predators. If time allows, enjoy a late-evening game drive before dinner and overnight in Ndutu. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 4: Ndutu Full Day
Have breakfast at your accommodation, then head out with a packed lunch for a full-day Ndutu game drive. The calving season brings spectacular wildlife scenes, with large wildebeest herds, newborn calves, zebra, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other predators moving through the plains. Around 5:30–6:00 pm, return toward your Ndutu accommodation for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5: Ndutu to Ngorongoro
Enjoy an early breakfast, then around 6:20 am begin your Ndutu game drive with packed lunch. Early hours can provide excellent opportunities to observe predators and active herds during calving season. Watch wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other wildlife before driving toward the Ngorongoro Rim or Karatu in the early afternoon for dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 6: Ngorongoro to Arusha
After breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for approximately 5–6 hours of game viewing with packed lunch. Search for lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, flamingos, and other wildlife. After the crater visit, drive back to Arusha for approximately 4 hours, arriving around 5:30–6:30 pm at your hotel. Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.
Departure Day: Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport
After your safari, transfer from Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport according to your flight schedule. Most hotels have a maximum checkout time around 10:00 am. If you need Kilimanjaro climbing, Zanzibar travel, or other activities, these can be arranged as part of your wider Tanzania trip.
