Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi Hotel
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your booked hotel in Moshi. This arrival arrangement gives you time to settle in before the mountain section begins. Hotel accommodation before the hike can be arranged according to your travel plans and package requirements.
Day 1: Moshi Town to Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Rising: 5,500 ft / 1,700 m to 9,000 ft / 2,740 m | Stretch: 7 km | Hike time: 4–5 hours | Climatic habitat: Montane Forest
The climb begins at Marangu Gate and continues through the forest toward Mandara Hut. The route provides the first stage of the six-day trek, with a gradual increase in elevation. You will stay at the hut after completing the day’s hiking.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Rising: 9,000 ft / 2,700 m to 12,100 ft / 3,700 m | Stretch: 11 km | Hike time: 6–8 hours | Climatic habitat: Heathland/Moorland

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Moshi Town

The final mountain section descends from Horombo Hut through the lower vegetation zones to Marangu Gate. After completing the hike, you continue to Moshi Town and are transferred onward to Arusha for the night stay.

Day 7: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Pickup is planned around 6:00 am to 7:00 am, with the exact time confirmed in advance. The drive to Tarangire takes approximately 2 hours for about 109 km. The game drive may provide opportunities to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and other wildlife before returning to Arusha in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight accommodation.
